Welcome to Rural Roots Nutrition’s first blog post!
Today we will be introducing Carolyn Allen, MS, RD, CDN, CLC, owner of Rural Roots Nutrition PLLC.
Carolyn established Rural Roots Nutrition PLLC in November of 2016. Her current office is located in Manlius, New York at the Synergy Center. Her passion is in community nutrition.
As the owner of a nutrition firm and registered dietitian, Carolyn provides nutrition counseling and education, culinary lessons, and lactation counseling to clients of all ages and backgrounds. She promotes healthy, sustainable lifestyle changes that will guide you to your nutrition goals. Her foundation is based on integrative and functional medicine and intuitive eating. Carolyn does not believe in a strict diet or a “quick fix”. Rather, she believes in a holistic approach to food that allows clients to build a healthy, lifelong relationship with food and with themselves.
Besides individual counseling services, Carolyn provides corporate wellness services to help employees make healthy lifestyle choices. She also works with children of all ages, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, to aid in optimizing nutrition in mom and baby.

A personal note from Carolyn:
Hi there!
While wearing many hats, as business owner, dietitian, mom, wife, cooking enthusiast, etc., I am now diving into the world of blogging! I am very excited to connect with you through this new venture! This is an out of the box challenge for me so bear with me while I continue getting my feet wet! I truly believe that the purpose of bringing this blog to you is to help you understand what is going on in the world of nutrition. It is not my intention to push you to purchase any specific items, nor sway you to one side of a nutrition belief system. My hope is to incorporate affiliate links in the future as a means to help support my business and family but not interfere with my personal business ethics. I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I enjoy writing them.
I am really looking forward to guiding you on your nutrition journey!
~Carolyn
